Acupuncture treatment for Diabetes- Does it work?

We had tried the acupuncture treatment for our daughter during her initial days of diagnosis. We did see some results for the initial period to the extent of her not needing any insulin for a couple of months. However the euphoria died when even after continued treatment, her insulin requirement started to rise and then we realised that her reduced requirement was due to her honeymoon period (this was done during the first six months of the diagnosis). While a couple of acupuncture doctors whom we visited confirmed that they can treat Type 1 with acupuncture, they never could provide details of a success case.
